Job Summary:
As an IT Change Lead, you will be instrumental in driving the successful implementation of our IT change initiatives for 2025, focusing on enhancing organizational awareness and engagement within the IT department. This role is a contract position that will require 50% of your time and will involve collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth transition during this transformative period.
We are looking for a proactive and experienced IT Change Lead to spearhead the development and execution of the IT Change Plan from June to December 2025. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in change management to identify and implement awareness campaigns, assess organizational readiness, and establish clear metrics to track progress. Key responsibilities will include designing an onboarding and training strategy tailored to various IT roles, managing distribution lists effectively, and fostering engagement through interactive and in-person team-building initiatives.
The IT Change Lead will also conduct a comprehensive needs assessment and facilitate a gap analysis to identify necessary skills and resource scalability by 2026. You will play a critical role in ensuring that all IT personnel are equipped with the tools and support they need to thrive in their roles, ultimately leading to a successful adoption of the Elevate initiative and its associated sandbox launch by Q4 2025. Your ability to connect various workstreams and roles will be essential in creating a cohesive and effective onboarding experience.
Responsibilities:
- Quickly come up to speed on Nimble team scope and roles, client scope and work completed to date
- Help business leaders to identify onboarding and training needs by IT role and function in the GIS platform.
- Help to connect the dots between users of the technologies by business function, and process touch points.
- Lead and develop change management strategies and plans to support changes and standardizing how users work in the new world
- Develop content: stakeholder identification (rosters by persona), email communications, roadshow presentations, surveys, talking points, FAQs, digestible stakeholder impact assessment for IT leadership and impacts on IT partners within the larger organization
- You are technology forward: Able to edit SharePoint pages for the project team (update content, correct links and administratively maintain the site), collaborate and whiteboard using Mural or Miro, can update tasks weekly in Jira, and use MS Teams survey tools, Mentimeter or similar tools.
- Co-Facilitate group workshops with subject matter experts as necessary.
- Design and Deliver Roadshows or “summits” on key changes to come
- Establish and track key change management metrics and provide regular reports to IT leadership on the progress and effectiveness of change initiatives (focused on awareness first, then engagement and understanding of how to prepare).
- Coordinate with full-time change lead on the project and comply with client enterprise change management requirements
- Provide coaching and support to leaders and managers to enable them to effectively lead their teams through change.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, organizational psychology, or a related field.
- Change management experience with large-scale ERP/technology rollouts. Preference to Utility sector experience.
- Change Management certification (Being First, ProSci, ACMP CCMP, Kotter, etc. and/or formal coursework/degree in organizational development, change management); must be able to provide proof of certification.
- Proven experience (8+ years) in leading change management initiatives, preferably in a hybrid role involving both onsite and remote work environments and experience promoting engagement across a hybrid environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading change management end-to-end through the entire lifecycle across multiple projects and industries
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Ability to analyze complex situations, identify opportunities and risks, and develop effective strategies.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and constantly changing environment.
- Able to use remote access and client tools effectively within the first few weeks.
Requirements for the Nimble team
- Available to start work on June 1, 2025.
- Must be available during client office hours (Pacific time) typically 8am-5pm, with flexibility as needed.
- Work is 70% remote, 30% onsite at client offices in Oakland, San Ramon, California); ~ for half-time role, about once a week onsite (can fluctuate)
- Consultant is: already residing in the San Francisco bay area
